| This skit was actually written by W. Upton Downs, and I think was just written down without any intention of actually making a skit. And Walter just had it in his notes when he came to visit once, and I loved the idea of this
non-sensical, bizarre idea that had nothing to do with anything. I won't blame you if you don't find it funny...but I think it is. The original idea was that there was this National Avacado Promotion Board, and, well...that's just how Up Downs works. So Walter and I tried to come up with a way to integrate this into a talk show. I don't remember how we came up with the names Hatch and Curly, but I think they're phenomenal. |
